Bromide, chloride, fluoride, iodide, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate and sulfate are determined in acid solutions, aqueous solutions, drinking water, wastewater, packing's, seals, gaskets, resins, sealants, oils, lubricants and metals via ion chromatography and specific ion electrode analysis. For total anion content, samples are decomposed prior to analysis using oxygen bomb calorimeters, peroxide bomb, alkali salt fusion or acid dissolution. Water extractable anions are determined after leaching the samples in hot deionized water.
