Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS)

Accurate trace and major element quantification in metals, alloys, and solutions using flame and graphite furnace atomic absorption.

Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy

Atomic absorption spectroscopy measures the concentration of a specific element by vaporizing the sample and reading how much light that element’s free atoms absorb. It is the right method when you need accurate, targeted numbers on a defined set of elements, and it reads many metals down to trace levels.

Results are reported as elemental concentrations (ppm, wt%), with graphite furnace AAS reaching sub-ppm detection where a method calls for it. Solid samples are acid-digested in-house before analysis. Luvak runs flame AA on the Perkin Elmer 3030B to ASTM E663.

Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy

Targeted Accuracy

Excellent when you need precise numbers on specific elements.

Low Spectral Interference

Cleaner results for many trace metals.

Sub-PPM with Graphite Furnace

Lower detection limits when a method requires them.
