Loss on Ignition (LOI)
Measurement of volatile, moisture, and organic content by controlled high-temperature ignition.

Loss on Ignition (LOI)
Loss on ignition measures the mass a sample loses when heated to a specified temperature, capturing moisture, volatiles, and organic or combustible content. It is a standard quality check for powders, ceramics, coatings, and raw materials. Luvak performs LOI by controlled ignition and precise weighing, reporting to customer methods and limits.
LOI is often paired with gravimetric assay work to give a complete picture of a material’s composition and consistency.
Why Loss on Ignition
Quality & Consistency
Confirms materials batch to batch.
Captures Moisture & Volatiles
In a single controlled test.
Complements Gravimetric Work
Part of a full assay picture.
