Optical Emission Spectroscopy
Optical emission spectroscopy determines a material’s elemental composition by measuring the light its atoms emit when excited in a high-temperature plasma. At Luvak, optical emission is performed by inductively coupled plasma (ICP-OES) and direct current plasma (DCP), which together cover major and trace element determination across a wide range of materials.
Samples are dissolved in-house before analysis (our optical methods are destructive), and results are reported as elemental concentrations (ppm, wt%). ICP-OES is accredited under our ISO 17025 spectroscopy scope.
